Clinical Assistant Professor, Core Faculty, DPT ProgramJob no: 492853 Work type: 12 Month Faculty Location: Main Campus, Oklahoma City Categories: Schools and CollegesVP Area: DPT ProgramDepartment: DPT ProgramFLSA Status: ExemptBenefit Eligibility: YesPosition Summary:Oklahoma City University invites applications for two full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to serve as Core Faculty in the Physical Therapy Program.The successful candidate will contribute to the education and development of future physical therapy professionals while supporting the program's mission, goals, and learning outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in implementing the curriculum, student mentorship, and program advancement in a dynamic academic environment located in the heart of Oklahoma City.Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & InstructionDesign, develop, and deliver high-quality courses in area(s) of clinical expertiseEnsure excellence in clinical and didactic education for Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) studentsFoster an engaging and supportive learning environmentScholarship & ServiceEngage in scholarly activities consistent with university and program expectationsConduct and/or collaborate on research within area of clinical expertiseMaintain an active scholarly agendaProgram & Institutional ContributionParticipate in program evaluation, implementation and revision of the curriculum, and assessment activitiesServe on program, college, and/or university committees and contribute to institutional initiativesSupport accreditation standards, including expectations aligned with Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy EducationRequired Qualifications Doctoral degree (post-professional doctorate or DPT with advanced clinical specialization)Current physical therapy licensure or eligibility for licensureMinimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed physical therapistStrong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated problem-solving abilitiesContemporary clinical expertise in a defined practice areaExperience in designing and conducting independent or collaborative researchPreferred QualificationsTeaching experience in neurologic conditions or other areas of specialty practice within physical therapyAdvanced clinical specialization (e.g., board certification)Completion of residency and/or fellowship trainingMinimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a physical therapy academic programActive participation in professional organizations (local, state, or national), such as the American Physical Therapy AssociationEvidence of ongoing scholarly productivityAbout the PT Program: The Physical Therapy Program provides an eight-semester curriculum that combines didactic and clinical education to prepare students as entry-level generalists who are capable of being a professional member of inter-professional teams in a variety of settings. The didactic portion of the curriculum provides a strong foundation in basic, applied, and physical therapy clinical science courses.
