Experience * Three (3) to five (5) years of experience desired but not required. * Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred. New Jersey Certification/License: * Certificate in Elementary (K-6) or Middle School, depending upon position * Ability and Willingness to acquire within the required period of time * Teacher Leader Endorsement desired and/or willingness to obtain Position Purpose The Academic Coach serves as an instructional leader and mentor, improving student outcomes by enhancing teacher effectiveness through evidence-based coaching, data analysis, and professional development coordination. Essential Functions * Teacher Mentorship: Provides non-evaluative coaching through classroom observations, modeling best practices, and side-by-side lesson planning. * Data Leadership: Leads the analysis of state and local assessment data (NJSLA) to identify school-wide instructional gaps and trends. * Professional Development: Facilitates the writing and implementation of the school's Professional Development Plan (PDP) and coordinates ongoing staff training. * Testing Coordination: Assist with the administration of all aspects of school-wide assessment activities, including logistics, security, and dissemination of results to stakeholders. * Curriculum Alignment: Assists the school administration in reviewing and revising the curriculum to ensure alignment with NJDOE regulations and national standards. * Classroom: Provides direct instruction via modeling or as requested by administration Additional Duties The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
