**Description:** The Advanced Programs and Exploitation /(APEX/) team with Lockheed Martin in Boulder is looking for a Research Scientist Sr to support ongoing programs and internal research and development efforts/. This role will be focused on mission processing applications of remote sensing payloads and measurement fusion of various data types/. This position will work alongside research scientists, FPGA engineers, and software engineers on the team to research, develop, test, and deliver prototype and fully capable systems/. This position will be expected to: - participate in the development, integration, and enhancement of remote sensing processing and tracking algorithms and software/. - evaluate, refine, and develop tracking & image signal processing algorithms/. - help evolve ground/-based mission processing applications of remote sensing payloads onto flight hardware for onboard mission processing operations/. - develop a thorough understanding of R&D mission processing code written in C/+/+/. - add features to a complex legacy code base/. - develop models and detailed simulations to predict and assess system performance/. - contribute to simulation environments that support algorithm validation/. - possibly work on AI/ML algorithm applications/. This position is in beautiful Boulder, Colorado at our offices which have a collaborative and modern agile workspace/. **Basic Qualifications:** - Advanced degree /(Master's or Ph/.D/./) in STEM /(Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math/) field from an accredited institution/. - Proficiency in MatLab and another programming language - Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance required for this role/. **Desired Skills:** - PhD in STEM /(Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math/) field - Proficient in C/+/+ & Python - Experience with hardware acceleration technologies /(e/.g/., GPUs, FPGAs/) - Experience with AI/ML algorithms for detection and tracking - Experience in remote sensing - Experience with software version control such as GIT - Applied mathematics or algorithm development experience - Strong experience in software design and development/. - Active security clearance **Security Clearance Statement:** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration/. **Clearance Level:** TS/SCI **Other Important Information You Should Know** **Expression of Interest:** By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match/. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed/. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits/. **Schedule for this Position:** 9x80 every other Friday off **Pay Rate:** The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York /(excluding most major metropolitan areas/), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $93,200 /- $164,450/. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location/. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only/.
