What you'll do on a typical day The Part Time, Central Sterile Processing Lab Instructor (Adjunct) is responsible for providing supervision and instruction during laboratory requirements of central sterile processing courses at the Davie Campus (Mocksville, NC) of Davidson-Davie Community College. The Lab Instructor reports to the Division Chair, Davie Academic Programs. Essential Job Functions: * Deliver instruction, supervision, and timely assessment of students during laboratory sessions in the Central Sterile Processing curriculum, ensuring alignment with program requirements. * Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment in accordance with established safety standards and protocols. * Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the college's mission, goals, and strategic initiatives. Your attributes Minimum Qualifications Required: * Be a graduate of an education program in central sterile processing accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency * Current certification as a Central Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) issued by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc OR Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) issued by The Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) * A minimum of two years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a surgical technologist and/or Central Sterile Processing Preferred Qualifications: * Prior experience as a teaching assistant * Knowledge of laboratory safety standards Work environment ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment; ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus and College locations; travel between campus locations may be required; and effective use of all forms of communication including use of computers.
