Job Description

We're hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of pediatric and neonatal patients with respiratory disorders.Minimum Requirements: Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in good standing.CRT or RRT credential required. Must be an RRT to meet preferred hiring profile.BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.PALS certification required.6 months to 1 year PICU or Level 3/Level 4 NICU experience required. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.Experience with ventilators and pediatric respiratory equipment, including Servo U with NAVA, Avea ventilator, V60 noninvasive, Vapotherm, and HFNC blenders preferred.Experience performing nebulizer therapy, airway clearance, BiPAP, mechanical ventilation management, HFNC, bronchial hygiene modalities, and ABG collection.Ability and willingness to float voluntarily to adult units as needed.Team-oriented, flexible, and able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.Apply now and one of our recruiters will reach out with the details to see if this is the right fit for you. Thank you for your time and responsiveness.Assignment DetailsFacility type: Hospital.Primary specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist supporting pediatric and neonatal critical care units, including Level 4 NICU and PICU.Shift: Nights.Shift hours: 1830-0700.Weekend requirement: At least 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.Typical patient volume: Approximately 30-40 units of therapy per shift across pediatrics and neonatal services.EMR: Meditech.Dress code: Olive/sage scrub top with black scrub bottoms preferred; all-black scrubs accepted.Location Highlights San Antonio, TX offers a mix of cultural landmarks and outdoor recreation within easy driving distances.
