Position Summary: The School Psychologist works in collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and school administrators to support student academic achievement, social/emotional functioning, and the special education evaluation and eligibility process, whenever applicable.Primary duties and responsibilities:Completes psycho-educational evaluations and re-evaluations as part of a multidisciplinary team evaluation and facilitate associated meetingsCompletes evaluations within the appropriate timelinesUses a variety of appropriate instruments/strategies to assess student abilities: intellectual, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral assessments for special education eligibility or 504 accommodationsScore, analyze and interpret intellectual, academic, social/emotional/behavioral and other psychometric assessments.Consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and intervention teams to identify needs and tailor strategiesParticipate in MET, IEP, crisis teams; act as liaison with community agencies to support student needsMaintain professional credentials, follow ethical codesCollaborates with their supervisor weekly to review student cases, protocols and proceduresCompany-wide skills, abilities and expectations:High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.This position requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.Work requires attention to detail in such things as composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.Work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.Excellent initiative, ability to learn quickly and work independently.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to ensure excellent client service and expedient business processing.Specific Job Skills/Abilities:Ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, staff and the general publicAbility to maintain professional demeanor during contentious situationsAbility to maintain confidentialityStrong attention to detailAble to handle multiple tasksAbility to motivate students and parents toward achieving good academic standing, career choices, and post high school endeavors.Excellent interpersonal communication skillsExcellent phone etiquetteOrganizational skills, including ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyAnalytical, reasoning, and problem solving skillsAbility to keep and maintain accurate and detailed reports and recordsAbility to understand and follow directionsAbility to work in a culturally diverse environmentAbility to type 45 wpmProficient in Microsoft OfficeEducation/Training:Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Verified Prints (IVP) fingerprint cardValid Arizona Standard School Psychologist, Prekindergarten - 12 CertificateCompletion of a Graduate degree in School PsychologyAt least 5 years' experience in a School Psychologist position preferredEnvironmental Conditions: Usual office setting.
