The primary purpose of the Academic Specialist is to improve the academic achievement of students through interventions and connections. Including working with students in the RISE room with check & connect. This position begins immediately upon hire.Essential Functions:Serve as a member of the High School StaffRe-teach academic content in the areas of English, Science, Math and Social Studies in small groupsWork with students during school.Collaborate with TeachersMonitor and communicate student progress with students, families, administrators, and staffMonitor and communicate weekly assignments, activities and assessments with teachers and families.Monitor student attendance and communicate with parents as necessaryStay current with best practices research and strategiesOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesKnowledge of math, reading, science and history concepts.Ability to work with and teach small groups/individual studentsKnowledge of behavioral management strategies/crisis interventionProficient in technology/iPadsEducation and ExperienceAA degree with an emphasis in child development, human development, education, behavior management, or a related area; or the completion of a combination of experience and course work of an equivalent nature and level to perform the requirements of the work.Bachelor degree preferredCompensation$22.97/hr + benefits Application Procedure: Apply online at: Deadline: March 19, 2025 or until filled
