An infusion pharmacist position is available for a maternity leave coverage at a specialty infusion pharmacy near Hartford, CT. This is a contract opportunity lasting approximately four weeks, with a potential for extension. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., starting mid-March. Responsibilities: Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and regulatory compliance. Monitor specialty drug therapies and recommend clinical interventions as needed. Provide detailed patient counseling on specialty infusion medications. Oversee pharmacy technician activities and ensure proper documentation. Maintain compliance with State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, HIPAA, ACHC, URAC, OSHA, and other applicable regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Intake, Reimbursement, Quality, Nursing, and Pharmacy departments. Support prescription fulfillment, referral coordination, and patient onboarding processes. Participate in on-call rotations when required. Keep licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements current. Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited institution. Active, unrestricted Connecticut Pharmacist license is mandatory. Strong understanding of specialty therapies and patient qualification workflows. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with CareTend software preferred. Preferred Experience: Minimum 3 years in Specialty, Infusion, Hospital, Retail, or Mail-Order Pharmacy settings. Proven ability to work effectively with pharmacy technicians and clinical teams. Knowledge of specialty payer contracts and operational protocols. Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is a plus.
