Position Summary: Utilizes high frequency sound waves and other diagnostics techniques to produce images of the breast, as well as other tissues, organs or blood flow that are used by a physician to make a medical diagnosis.Obtains and records patient history and clinical data, entering appropriate information into PACs and the breast imaging reporting systemPerforms breast sonography including diagnostics, breast biopsies, and screening breast sonographyWorks collaboratively with the breast imaging team, including mammographers, RNs, and radiologistsPerforms diagnostic procedures by obtaining and evaluating breast ultrasound images according to protocolsSelects appropriate transducer, power output and instrument gain for patient size, age, and procedureKnowledgeable in human gross and sectional anatomy and recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structuresInteracts with interpreting physician and provides a written or oral summary of technical findings, as appropriateDemonstrates the ability to modify care according to the patient's age and abilitiesAdheres to hospital policies and consistently demonstrates the hospital's 7 behaviorsRequirement description : Minimum 1 year experience in BREAST sonography - REQUIRED Previous sonography experience - REQUIRED (3-5 years preferred)Advanced training with certification in Breast Sonography (ARDMS) - REQUIRED COVID and Flu vaccination required - DECLINATIONS WILL NOT BE APPROVED **Please add vaccination status in the submission**ARDMS Registry certification - REQUIREDBLS/CPR - REQUIREDPROFILE REQUIREMENTSResume with all facilities listedSkills Checklist specific to the discipline (must be less than a year old)2 supervisory references (completed within the last year)Active License (verification must be less than 30 days old)Certifications (must be active at time of submission)COVID and Flu vaccination statusCERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : ARDMSBLS (AHA)STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS : IllinoisADDITIONAL LICENSE REQUIREMENTS : Active ARDMS Registry certificationWeekend Requirements : Weekend schedule to be determined by facilityOn Call Requirements : On call schedule to be determined by facility
