Join a dynamic specialty pharmacy team as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a newly established specialty pharmacy in Shreveport, LA. This direct hire opportunity offers a unique chance to lead the build-out, oversee pharmacy operations, and collaborate closely with specialty care clinics to enhance patient outcomes and the overall specialty pharmacy experience. The business partner is an established specialty pharmacy management group dedicated to supporting clinics in launching and operating their own specialty pharmacies. Location: • Onsite role based in Shreveport, Louisiana Schedule: • Monday through Friday, hours to be determined Key Responsibilities: • Serve as the designated PIC, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations, Board of Pharmacy rules, and DEA standards • Manage pharmacy licensure, controlled substance oversight, and regulatory inspections • Lead the build-out and opening of the new specialty pharmacy, including onboarding insurance contracts • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate dispensing and patient safety • Enforce policies for prescription processing, drug storage, and security • Supervise and train pharmacy staff to maintain quality and compliance • Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to optimize patient care, formulary management, and medication access • Handle medication incident investigations and promote continuous quality improvement • Manage inventory, including procurement and handling of temperature-sensitive drugs • Support patient counseling, therapeutic substitutions, and prior authorization reviews • Drive strategic planning to support pharmacy growth and value-based care initiatives Qualifications & Desired Experience: • Prior PIC or Pharmacy Manager experience required • Outpatient/retail specialty pharmacy expertise essential; inpatient-only backgrounds will not be considered • Licensed PharmD with active, unrestricted pharmacist license in Louisiana eligible to become PIC • Proven leadership skills with excellent organization and communication abilities • Experience with specialty pharmacy workflows, insurance benefits investigation, prior authorizations, and financial assistance • Familiarity with pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, PioneerRx) and EMR systems (e.g., EPIC) a plus • Collaborative mindset with strong professional communication and written skills, including drafting appeal letters Benefits & Compensation: • Competitive salary range between $135,000 - $150,000 • Performance bonus and equity stake opportunities • Unlimited paid time off This direct hire position offers a compelling professional challenge with a chance to lead specialty pharmacy operations from inception.
