A leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Manager to oversee the Outpatient Infusion Pharmacy at a cancer center in Fredericksburg, VA. This contract-to-hire role offers the chance to lead and staff a dedicated infusion team in an acute care hospital setting with 380 staffed beds and 44 infusion chairs. The selected professional will manage a team comprised of 2-3 pharmacists and 3 technicians. While this role does not require serving as Pharmacist-in-Charge, strong management skills are essential to ensure smooth operations of the outpatient infusion pharmacy. The work schedule aligns with pharmacy operating hours, offering a stable daytime shift without on-call or weekend responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Manage daily operations of the outpatient infusion pharmacy Staff pharmacists and technicians effectively to maintain optimal workflow Oversee preparation and dispensing of intravenous medications with a focus on chemotherapy compounding Collaborate with clinical teams to support patient care within the cancer center Utilize Epic pharmacy information system and Pyxis automation for efficient pharmacy management Qualifications and Desired Experience: Valid Virginia Pharmacist License required Proven expertise in IV compounding and chemotherapy preparation Strong leadership and team management skills in an outpatient infusion setting Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis systems preferred Experience in 340B program not required Schedule: Typical hours from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (with slight variations: 7:30-4:00 or 8:00-4:30) This assignment offers a unique opportunity to bring your infusion pharmacy leadership skills to a respected acute care hospital.
