SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST OPENING for 2026 - 2027 School Year This position is with Cooperative School Services (West Central School Corporation holds the contracts for Cooperative School Services employees). Cooperative School Services (CSS) is based in Rensselaer and serves nine school corporations (Benton Community, Frontier, Kankakee Valley, North Newton, North White, Rensselaer Central, South Newton, Tri-County and West Central). The assigned territory will generally be 2-3 districts, depending on their size and enrollments. Either part-time or full-time employment will be considered. Position: The School Psychologist will evaluate students as specified by IDEA/Article 7 to determine eligibility for special education services and serve as a member of multi-disciplinary teams. Additionally, the School Psychologist will assist with conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and assist in developing Behavior Intervention Plans. Other responsibilities include supporting school teams in the RTI or MTSS process, providing training sessions on various topics, and serving on committees/teams (i.e. Autism Team). Start date: On or about August 5, 2026 End Date: On or about May 22, 2027, anticipate 190 days total for full-time (120 days for part-time) Age ranges of students: Preschool - Elementary - High School Job Requirements: * Thorough knowledge of IDEA / Article 7 * Previous experience as an Educational Diagnostician preferred but not required * Effective spoken and written communication skills * Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy of information * Ability to work with teams, either as a leader or participant. * Ability to lead training sessions on various topics related to the field * The position covers multiple school buildings and sites and requires use of personal vehicle for travel with mileage reimbursement.
