Job Description

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply Duties: * Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services, including assessment, and uses the most appropriate techniques to provide quality care, with particular attention to patients with pain conditions, co-morbid medical problems, and co-morbid substance use disorders; * Provides a full range of psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family psychotherapies, as well as caregiver stress management for patients with pain conditions and co-morbid substance use disorders; * Works collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team within the Comprehensive Pain Clinic; * Provides consultation to professional staff within the Boise VAMC system and to community providers concerning clinical assessment and appropriate treatment for patients with chronic pain, and coordinates services with other healthcare programs; * Assists in the program design, development, and implementation of procedures for the Comprehensive Pain Clinic; * Complies with all medical record documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures (e.g., entering diagnostic and procedure codes). * Attends and participates in administrative and informational meetings held by the Comprehensive Pain Clinic and PM&R Service; * Performs other duties as assigned. * Serves as a consultant to other medical center staff and trainees to assist in diagnostic formulation and appropriate treatment expectations regarding the Veterans they serve; * May provide direct clinical supervision, training, and oversight to various disciplines and levels of training, including trainees seeking licensure in psychology (e.g., graduate students, psychology interns, psychology doctoral fellows); * May provide training and clinical supervision to trainees in other mental health disciplines, medical students, nursing students, and others, as assigned. * May serve on medical center committees or task forces as related to diagnosis, assessment, and/or treatment issues associated with the integrated primary care and mental health programs; * May represent the medical center at professional/program/community events and committees; * May serve on service, medical center, VISN, and/or national committees or task forces related to assigned program; * Performs other duties as assigned.
