The Occupational Therapist will serve students in general education and special education, with particular focus on school-aged children who receive services through self-contained and resource classrooms. The schedule is designed around a standard school day with approximately 37.5 hours per week and a typical 7.5-hour workday, allowing a predictable routine and evenings free.You will be responsible for providing direct and consultative OT services to students with a variety of needs, including fine motor, visual-motor integration, handwriting, sensory processing, self-regulation, and functional school participation skills. The role also includes evaluation and re-evaluation, development of IEP goals, regular progress monitoring, and integrating OT recommendations into classroom routines to support student success.On a typical day, you can expect to split your time between direct treatment sessions, in-class support as needed, consultation with teachers and paraprofessionals, documentation, and participation in student-focused meetings. Services may be provided individually or in small groups, depending on student needs and IEP mandates. Caseload will span multiple grade levels from kindergarten through middle school, offering exposure to a wide range of developmental stages and clinical presentations.The school environment is team-oriented and collaborative, with opportunities to work closely with special education teachers, general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families. You will have the chance to contribute to multi-tiered systems of support, participate in IEP meetings, and help shape functional, school-relevant goals that truly impact students daily lives.
