American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with strong ortho experience and a wide range of surgical skills for an acute care hospital OR position in Massachusetts.Job Details• Work in a large acute care hospital OR with 23 rooms handling 50-70 cases per day,• Surgical specialties include orthopedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, laparoscopic, robotic, and eyes/ENT cases,• Trauma cases are part of the caseload at this academic facility,• Charting is performed in Epic,• Schedule includes 12-hour shifts on weekends and 8-hour shifts on weekdays, rotating with permanent staff,• 36-40 hours per week depending on candidate preference, with day and evening shift availability,• Weekend rotation and on-call requirements apply - travelers are expected to take the same call as permanent staff,• Call rotations include weekday evenings/nights (approximately 3 per month) and weekend shifts (1-2 per month depending on rotation cycle),Job Requirements• Minimum 2 years of surgical technology experience required,• Strong orthopedic surgical experience is required,• Broad surgical skills required, including general, laparoscopic, robotic, orthopedic, and neurosurgical cases,• Level 1 trauma center experience required,• Academic or teaching facility experience preferred,• BLS certification required,• CST certification via NBSTSA required,• Travel experience preferred,• Epic EMR experience,• Massachusetts state requirements must be met via one of the following: (1) Graduation from a nationally accredited surgical technology program plus active NBSTSA certification, (2) Graduation from a nationally accredited surgical technology program plus active NCCT certification (CAAHEP accreditation verification required), (3) Completion of a military surgical technology program, or (4) Employment as a surgical technician on or before 7/1/2013,• License required if applicable,Additional Information• Scrub for a high-volume OR environment with diverse and complex surgical cases across multiple specialty centers,• Travelers are integrated into the same call and weekend rotation schedules as permanent staff,• Call assignments are managed through a designated call center system; travelers will be notified of their assigned call center,• Eyes/ENT experience is a bonus but not required,• This is a fast-paced, very busy academic OR environment
