Above all, you have tremendous problem solving and communication skills that you are looking to utilize in support of Affirm's continued growth and pursuit of our mission to deliver honest financial products that improve lives.What You'll DoIntercompany Accounting:Champion intercompany operational excellence: oversee proper application of and consistent compliance with intercompany accounting policy to maintain financial consistency and clarityAnalyze intercompany and consolidated results, provide variance analysis, and performance narrativesLead the end-to-end intercompany accounting process related to Affirm standalone entities and across multiple Affirm entities: invoicing, reconciliations, settlements and compliance with state regulatory requirementsOptimize intercompany processes: ensure proper reconciliation, compliance with transfer pricing and regulatory requirements, and accurate settlement of intercompany transactionsAccounting For "Standalone" US EntitiesPartner with Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to understand the reporting requirements that are needed for various regulators and ensure deliverables meet requirementsOwn Affirm's standalone entities accounting integrity: lead the allocation process and the proper elimination and consolidationGeneralExecute existing accounting and reporting controls and procedures during the monthly and quarterly close including departmental close packages, financial reporting reconciliations, support of financial reporting, analytics and efficiency metricsPerform accounting and control procedures related to highly visible and complex accounting transactions, ensuring the accuracy of accounting entries and timely accounting closeSupport internal and external audit requirements related to specific assigned areasDrive process improvement through automation initiatives: develop a plan, clearly communicate project goals, updates, resource needs and business outcomesProactively review current procedures and seek ways to improve processes to achieve operational efficiencyAssist in designing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring corporate accounting policies and procedures; and assist in internal control and process documentationWhat We Look ForMinimum of 5+ years of relevant professional experienceRecent experience in general ledger accounting at an experienced Senior Accountant or Supervisor level with a public company responsible for multiple lines on the balance sheetSolid understanding of US GAAP, and ability to partner with the Technical Accounting team on accounting policy implementation and adherenceAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills required (such as VLOOKUPS & conditional statements, pivot tables, data analysis, data visualization, what-if-analysis)Strong knowledge of end to end accounting processes and understanding of financial statement line itemsExcellent analytical, creative problem solving, organizational and project management skills, and to work effectively in situations that involve ambiguityStrong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn new skillsExcellent time management and organizational skills with interest in prioritizing and multi-taskingNetSuite experience is preferredThe desire to improve processes and make your own job easier over time, taking ownership of all aspects of your functional areaPassion for Affirm and a strong interest in technology, BNPL and consumer lendingBase Pay Grade - IEquity Grade - 5Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $115,000 - $155,000USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $102,000 - $142,000Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.Affirm is proud to be a remote-first company!
