OverviewOur Students for Voting Rights campaign is looking for a Student Organizer to coordinate our pilot project to get corporate money out of politics "” starting in Montana!Students for Voting Rights launched in 2022 as our campaign to end systemic inequality in our democracy by fighting money in politics, voter suppression attempts, and the two-party grip on our elections. We fight with allies for critical democracy reforms at the federal-level, lead efforts on-the-ground to stop anti-democracy measures, and support state allies to defeat anti-democracy legislation & ballot measures.The ideal campaign organizer is self-driven, understands the intersection of the fight for our democracy with other issues & identities (climate justice, access to healthcare, education, etc), and the role students need to play in championing systems that represent this role, you will:Researching & building relationships with campus/state-based anti-corruption groups to collaborate on shared campaign goals (especially youth-led orgs)Outreach & recruitment of Montana high-school and college students to mobilize others to support a ballot measure that effectively ends corporate spending in electionsHelp increase visibility of campaign work on social media & grow our network of students following the campaign in MTShare campaign updates at weekly team meetings and regularly check-in with the Students for Voting Rights Campaign Lead & the Campaigns Director about progress, barriers, and support needsOther campaign responsibilities as decided by leadershipRequirements Include(Huge plus but not required) Current or recent student at a Montana college/university!Capacity to work 10 hours/week on the aboveWillingness to learn & grow as an organizerCommitment to centering youth as we build a just & inclusive democracyDemonstrated initiative, ability to problem-solve, and respond to a rapidly-evolving organizing landscapeStrong interpersonal, speaking, and writing skills(Nice to have) Ability to point to a past issue-based campaign you were a part of & helped winAre you a good fit for the role?
