Engineering Manager, Distribution Generation Interconnection (DGI) Join the Clean Energy Revolution. Become an Engineering Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for reviewing, testing, and approving generation interconnection projects, ensuring safety and compliance while delivering value to customers and communities. Responsibilities Lead a select set of engineering and business initiatives to develop grid strategies, determine how the grid is planned, designed, operated, and maintained to operationalize the company's strategy. Develop and maintain a project portfolio management system to prioritize projects, allocate resources, and monitor performance. Evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance project efficiency, cost"‘effectiveness, and sustainability, designing and implementing improvement projects and new systems to support site initiatives and improve operational efficiency. Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and contractors to support project delivery and innovation. Coach engineering teams on professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge. Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy, technology and safety program to ensure company advancement toward future vision and the well"‘being of employees and contractors involved in engineering projects. Manage the engineering team that provides emergent and routine troubleshooting support for plant technical needs. Manage various contract engineers and work with those individuals to ensure consistency and quality in design, delivery milestone dates, and cost. Lead the design and implementation of new equipment and cost"‘effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability, and throughput. Develop goals for the engineering team and assign projects/roles to employees that translate senior manager level goals into actionable tasks. Ensure protection of all physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly access and manage private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other highly sensitive information with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Minimum Qualifications Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising engineering work. Experience in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Experience in the generation interconnection processes. Knowledge of the PUC and FERC related interconnection rules and tariffs. Additional Information This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at an alternate work location. Position will require up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory. This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position. Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un"‘escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties. Relocation may apply to this position.
