We are searching for a Safety Analysis Engineer to join our team.ResponsibilitiesPerforming safety analysis using quantitative and qualitative methodologiesDeveloping safety basesWorking collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to establish functional, performance, safety, and other facility requirements, and to engineer effective optimized mitigationsExecuting licensing projects and contributing strategically to licensing deliverablesManaging projects for an interdisciplinary team of engineersDeveloping analytical and computational methods and modelsDocumenting work using modern tools and techniques, and writing well-written, thoughtful technical reportsMinimum QualificationsProficiency with thermal-hydraulics analysisBachelors, Masters, or PhD in a technical field, such as nuclear, mechanical, or aerospace engineeringExperience with systems-level analysis codes such as SAS4A/SASSYS-1, SAM, RELAP, TRACE, GOTHIC, or equivalent is highly recommendedExperience with reactor transient analysis methodsFluency with PythonBonus QualificationsCore competencies in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics first principlesProfessional experience developing or amending safety case analyses on high-hazard or highly-regulated facilitiesPrior experience developing or amending safety bases and associated documentation for NRC-licensed or DOE-authorized nuclear facilitiesExperience with specific safety analyses (e.g., steam line break or fuel relocation analysis)Knowledgeable about fast reactors and fuel cycle activitiesCompetency with modern software engineering practices and programming languagesAbout OkloOklo is developing fast fission power plants to deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy at scale; establishing a domestic supply chain for critical radioisotopes; and advancing nuclear fuel recycling to convert nuclear waste into clean energy.
