Detailed Description The University of San Diego, Professional and Continuing Education, is looking for an adjunct faculty member to teach and/or develop an online class for our Medical Billing and Coding course. The course is offered in an online self"‘paced format and students have six months to complete it. Teaching Responsibilities Teach the course Assess student progress in meeting the learning objectives through formal and informal assessment Hold office hours Meet required deadlines for submitting grades, attendance, and other information Adhere to safety procedures and departmental standards Development Responsibilities Work with the Learning Design Team to create and develop the course in our learning management system while meeting agreed upon deliverable dates Job Requirements Required Qualifications Minimum of an associate degree in medical billing and coding Certification, including passing the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certification Exam, specific to medical coding and medical billing Experience in the medical field, particularly in positions with responsibilities related to billing Knowledge of medical records management, medical terminology, administrative duties, electronic medical record software programs, and healthcare theory and reasoning Preferred Qualifications Experience with the Canvas learning management system While we appreciate your interest in employment with the University of San Diego, we can only consider applicants who are or who will be authorized to work in the U.S. At this time, the department is unable to sponsor an employment"‘based visa (including H"‘1B).
