Staff Tax Accountant

This position will focus primarily on tax return preparation. Tax accountant will primarily prepare 1065 and a few 1040 returns. This is primarily a remote job, but candidate may be asked to come into the office 1-2 times a week during tax season.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesPrepare tax returns and tax workpapersTax returns will primarily be 1065 partnership returnsSmall amount of 1040 individual return preparation as wellWork closely with clients to obtain information and answer questionsWork with senior managers in firm to correctly prepare tax returnsSupport firm in other related tasksComplete continuing education credits to stay up to date with latest tax law changesAbilitiesStrong organization, coordination and planning, and problem-solving skillsWilling to learn new skills and grow in the firmAbility to meet strict deadlines consistentlyStrong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in ProSystems software encouraged, but not requiredProficiency in Microsoft Excel requiredPreferred Experience / Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related fieldCPA encouraged, but not required (firm will pay one time for prep course if employee decides to sit for exam)Clear understanding of accounting principlesMinimum of 1-2 years of experience in a public accounting firmExperience working in accounting in real estate industry encouraged, but not requiredCompensationCompetitive salary with additional discretionary bonusPPO Health Insurance fully paid by company #J-18808-Ljbffr
