OverviewThe Opportunity: Tetra Tech is adding a Senior Project Manager - Electric Transmission to lead electric transmission routing and permitting projects in California. Discover your full potential - join us to advance your career while leaving a lasting legacy.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & ExecutionServe as Senior Project Manager delivering transmission siting, routing, and permitting projectsManage and lead multi-disciplinary teams supporting siting, routing, environmental permitting, and engineering/design effortsPlan and execute projects to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectivesLead preparation and production of land use and resource permit applications for federal, state, and local agenciesSupport consulting activities related to development, analysis, permitting, and financial aspects of transmission projectsWork in a safe manner at all times and report health and safety incidents or concernsPerform additional duties as requiredBusiness Development & Client EngagementIdentify, pursue, and win large electric transmission projects and programsLeverage existing relationships with utility and developer clientsReview and respond to RFIs, RFPs, and RFQsEngage with clients to identify new opportunities and develop pursuit strategiesPrepare proposal documents, scopes, and cost estimatesPursue continuous professional development and maintain current industry knowledgeQualificationsCapabilities & CredentialsHigh-integrity professional with a strong commitment to delivering resultsStrategic thinker with deep experience in the electric transmission sectorProven ability to develop innovative client solutions aligned with business objectivesStrong client relationship-building and influencing skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced consulting environmentWillingness and ability to travel up to 25%Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (required)10-15+ years of experience managing and supporting electric transmission siting, routing, and permitting projectsPrior environmental consulting experience strongly preferredIn-depth knowledge of California siting application requirementsExperience providing expert witness testimony to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC)Demonstrated experience with California regulatory agencies, including:California Energy CommissionCalifornia Coastal CommissionCalifornia State Lands CommissionCalifornia Department of Fish and WildlifeState Water Resources Control BoardExperience with CEQA, NEPA, federal and state permitting, transmission infrastructure, and renewable energy projectsWorking knowledge of GIS and routing/siting softwareStrong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated attention to detail, organization, and qualityProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with Microsoft Project and/or ArcGIS preferredWork EnvironmentRemote or office-based consulting environmentFrequent collaboration with internal teams, clients, and agenciesTravel required for project execution and client engagementLife At Tetra TechThe perks of working at Tetra Tech include:Comprehensive and market-competitive benefitsMerit-based financial rewardsFlexibility and company-wide commitment to work/life balanceCollaborative team atmosphere that values the contributions of all employeesLearning and development opportunities for ongoing professional growthCompensationPay commensurate with experience.
