Pacific Clinics is hiring a Customer Service Specialist I to support client intake, referrals, insurance verification, and customer liaison functions. This is a remote, full-time role based in Sacramento, CA, offering competitive pay and benefits. Job Title: Customer Service Specialist I Company: Pacific Clinics Salary: $21.44-$26.37/hour Contract Type: Full-Time Role Overview You will act as the primary liaison between external agencies and internal departments, coordinating intake, insurance verification, and referral processes. This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple systems to ensure smooth client care and billing. Key Responsibilities Answer phones and collect information for service requests, referrals, demographics, and insurance/payment details Conduct phone screens and recommend referrals based on agency's continuum of care Provide information on service availability and triage to community resources when needed Create and maintain electronic records and tracking systems Verify insurance eligibility, co-pays, and deductibles; enter data into records Coordinate with program managers, families, and billing teams on payment issues Ensure insurance authorization information is recorded accurately Liaise between internal departments for referral coordination Maintain data accuracy across agency and County systems Participate in QA/QI activities and prepare reports as requested Serve as backup for HIM and other customer service staff Candidate Requirements Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED + 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination (two years of experience = one year of education) Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy Familiarity with client care and billing systems preferred Competitive hourly pay ($21.44-$26.37/hour) Remote flexibility Opportunity to support meaningful work in social services How to Apply Apply directly via Pacific Clinics' careers portal.
