Location: Fully Remote (Must reside in California) Job Type: Contract (LOA Coverage - Potential to Convert Full-Time) Salary: $93,600 - $104,000 Active California Self-Insured Plan (SIP) Certificate Candidates without SIP will not be considered. We are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner III to join a high-performing team supporting complex claims across California. This is a fully remote opportunity with a respected third-party administrator (TPA), offering the chance to take ownership of high-level claims and make real impact. This role is ideal for a seasoned examiner who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is confident managing claims independently from start to finish. What You'll Be Doing Manage a full caseload of 150-180 workers' compensation claims (including complex indemnity cases) Handle claims from inception through resolution Conduct thorough investigations to determine compensability Administer benefits in compliance with California regulations Coordinate medical treatment plans and authorize services Partner with defense counsel on litigated claims Set and manage claim reserves within authority limits Negotiate and finalize settlements Maintain accurate documentation and claim notes Provide timely updates and insights to clients What You Must Have Active CA SIP Certification (required) 5+ years of California Workers' Compensation claims experience Strong knowledge of CA WC laws, regulations, and claims processes Experience managing high-volume, complex caseloads independently Excellent communication, organization, and decision"‘making skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Nice to Have Experience within a TPA environment Why This Role Stands Out This is not an entry-level examiner role.
