Required Skills: Valid Nurse Practitioner license with appropriate state certificationProven experience in cardiothoracic surgical nursing or advanced practice rolesProficiency in assisting with CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracotomy, and lung resection proceduresCompetence in OR duties, telemetry, and ICU responsibilitiesStrong clinical assessment, decision-making, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamNice to Have Skills: Prior experience in inpatient surgical and ICU settingsFamiliarity with Epic EMR systemsBLS, ACLS and/or ATLS certificationsExperience with vein harvesting and chest tube placementPreferred Education and Experience: Master s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or higherMinimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience in cardiothoracic surgery or critical care settingsCurrent Kentucky state Nurse Practitioner license or eligibility for licensure in KYOther Requirements: Must hold or be eligible for applicable hospital credentialing, including a timely background check (expected turnaround within 90-110 days)Availability for scheduled coverage, including one weekend per month and occasional call duties from 7 am Friday to 7 am MondayFlexible scheduling around specified dates: May 31 - June 13, 2026, especially June 6-8, and July 20-26, 2026Reliable transportation and ability to participate in hospital and optional travel accommodations (preferably nearby Lexington areas like The Campbell House, Tru by Hilton, Candlewood Suites)This role offers an exciting chance to work in a supportive environment with a commitment to your professional growth.
