This individual ensures accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and delivers strategic financial insights to support executive decision-making, investment performance, and portfolio growth. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, analytical expertise, and deep experience in real estate finance.Position SummaryThis role leads all aspects of financial management, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, investment analysis, and capital strategy. The Controller partners closely with leadership, investors, and external stakeholders to drive financial performance, optimize operations, and support acquisitions, developments, and refinancing activities.Key Responsibilities Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities Review and approve financial statements and deliver consolidated reporting to leadership Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and cash flow planning Develop and maintain financial models for acquisitions, developments, and refinancing Analyze investment opportunities, including returns, risk, and profitability Manage lender reporting, loan compliance, and construction draw processes Support refinancing and capital structuring efforts Coordinate tax filings and compliance with external advisors Oversee investor reporting, distributions, and partner communications Manage treasury functions, including intercompany transactions and cash optimization Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while improving processes and controls Oversee disbursements, internal controls, and financial workflows Manage insurance renewals and risk mitigation strategies Lead financial oversight of acquisitions, dispositions, and closing activities Provide lease-level financial analysis and advisory support Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7-10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in real estate Strong experience with multi-entity and partnership structures Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills Deep understanding of real estate finance, lending, and compliance Proven leadership and team management capabilities CPA designation preferred Core Competencies Strategic financial thinking and analytical problem-solving High attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication with executives and external stakeholders Process improvement and systems implementation Ability to manage multiple priorities across a complex portfolioInterested in hearing more?
