Position Title: Compliance CoordinatorLocation: Tempus Corporate Headquarters, 600 Technology Center Drive, Stoughton, Massachusetts, United States of AmericaRequisition Number: Req #296 Job Description Tempus Unlimited, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides community-based services to empower children and adults with disabilities to live as independently as possible in the least restrictive environment. The Compliance Coordinator supports the organization's Compliance department while overseeing the processing of records disclosures, including protected health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII).This role ensures that all information releases, regulatory activities, and internal processes align with applicable federal, state laws, including HIPAA and state privacy requirements. The Compliance Coordinator serves as a key operational and compliance resource, supporting audits, investigations, incident response, and disclosure management.Essential DutiesCompliance Support Assist in the implementation and ongoing support of the organization's compliance department Support internal monitoring activities and risk assessments Maintain logs for incidents, complaints, disclosures, and corrective actions Assist investigating potential compliance incidents, including documentation and follow-up Support breach/incident response processes in coordination with leadership Monitor compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements Release of Information (ROI) & Disclosure Management Process and fulfill requests for PHI and PII in accordance with HIPAA and applicable state laws Review and validate authorizations, subpoenas, court orders, and other legal requests Apply the minimum necessary standard to all disclosures Maintain accurate accounting of disclosures and tracking logs Coordinate with internal departments to retrieve records in a timely manner Perform or coordinate redaction of sensitive information prior to release Ensure compliance with required turnaround times and service standards Identify and escalate high-risk or unclear disclosure requests Competencies Strong organizational skills Attention to accuracy and detail Ability to multi-task Ability to work independently Perform all other duties as may be required Education: Associates or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Compliance, or related field preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience 2-5 years of experience in compliance, health information management, or release of information Experience working with HIPAA and Privacy regulations Experience handling legal requests (subpoenas, authorizations) preferred Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
