This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining rigorous internal controls, and fostering a collaborative, accountable accounting department.The ideal candidate possesses deep experience in project-based revenue recognition and is a hands-on leader capable of managing high-volume construction workflows. Financial Packages: Prepare core reporting packages (Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow) for executive leadership and external partners. Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with Project Managers to track job costs, margins, and variances, providing analysis to support critical business decisions.Construction Operations Project Billing: Oversee the accurate preparation and submission of AIA G702/G703 payment applications. Contract Compliance: Manage the Change Order workflow to ensure budget accuracy and profit margin protection. Risk Mitigation: Standardize and monitor the collection of Conditional and Unconditional Lien Waivers from subcontractors and vendors to protect the company and clients. Cash Management: Oversee treasury functions including bank reconciliations, ACH/NACHA payment files, and fraud prevention through Bank of America CashPro.Team Development & Process Improvement Supervision: Mentor, train, and develop A/P and A/R staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and professional growth. Software Optimization: Act as the internal lead for Sage Intacct, optimizing report writing, dashboarding, and integration with third-party tools like Ramp Expense Management. Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure GAAP compliance. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred. Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role. Industry Expertise: Proven background in General Contracting, Construction, or Multifamily renovation. Technical Proficiency:o Advanced experience with Sage Intacct (report writing and GL management).o Expertise in AIA billing and Texas lien law documentation.o High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling).o Experience with Ramp or similar expense platforms and ADP payroll integrations.
