This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining commercial refrigeration systems including walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines, prep tables, and cold storage equipment.The ideal candidate combines strong technical refrigeration expertise with commitment to safety, quality, and exceptional customer service. This role is ideal for candidates who are looking to transition out of HVAC working indoors at customer sites.ESSENTIAL FUNCSTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDiagnose and repair commercial refrigeration systems (reach-in coolers/freezers, walk-ins, blast chillers, ice machines, prep tables, display cases, etc.)Perform start-up of refrigeration equipment in restaurants, healthcare, education, hospitality, and institutional foodservice environmentsTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant system issuesConduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevityHandle refrigerants in compliance with EPA and environmental regulationsMaintain accurate service documentation, parts usage, and customer recordsCommunicate clearly with customers regarding repair status, timelines, and recommendationsCollaborate with dispatch, parts, and technical support teams to ensure timely resolutionMaintain service vehicle inventory and toolsFollow all safety procedures and company standardsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:1-2+ years of experience servicing commercial refrigeration systemsExperience in commercial foodservice equipmentEPA Universal Certification (required)Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, controls, and electrical systemsAbility to read wiring diagrams and technical schematicsExperience with common brands of commercial refrigeration equipmentValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordAbility to lift 75+ pounds and work in confined or high-temperature environmentsStrong problem-solving skills and independent work ethicPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:CFESA certificationBasic hot-side equipment knowledge (a plus)Experience using service management software/mobile dispatch systemsCORE COMPETENCIES:Technical troubleshooting excellenceCustomer-first mindsetAccountability and ownershipTime management and prioritizationSafety and compliance awarenessTeam collaborationMKIndeedThe range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline.
