The Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and fully compliant operation of the plants electronic and software-based control systems. Youll support maintenance and troubleshooting efforts by evaluating circuit cards, power supplies, industrial computers, PLCs, controllers, monitors, and system-level software to keep each component performing as designed. Much of your time is spent managing equipment lifecycles analyzing failures, overseeing repairs or redesigns, maintaining configuration control, and implementing upgrades to mitigate obsolescence. Youll collaborate frequently with Maintenance, Operations, and other Engineering groups and may occasionally enter plant areas to assist with hands-on diagnostics or emergent issues during on-call rotations.
