We are seeking part-time, seasonal team members to represent us at two Greater Boston weekday farmers' markets from late May through mid-November, with the possibility to pick up shifts in our Brookline retail space as needed when available.About Clear Flour BreadClear Flour Bakery is a small, family owned and operated bakery specializing in the authentic breads and pastries of Italy, France and Germany since 1982. Located on a neighborhood street in Brookline, it was the first bakery to introduce artisan bread baking to the Boston area. Our award-winning bread and pastry is made from scratch daily by a highly skilled staff committed to preserving the art and craft of traditional baking. We pride ourselves on providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service and connecting our community to good food and the people who make it. DescriptionWe are seeking part-time, seasonal team members to represent us at two Greater Boston weekday farmers' markets from late May through mid-November, with the possibility to pick up shifts in our Brookline retail space as needed when available.Farmers' Market Associates have the unique opportunity to connect with area vendors and customers in other communities throughout the year while gaining comfort with a smaller selection of our expansive menu of bread and pastry.At the conclusion of market season, Farmers' Market Associates may have the opportunity to continue employment through the winter holiday season or beyond.The ideal candidate:likes working collaborativelyis passionate about food and hospitalityenjoys active working on their feet in the outdoorslikes to keep busy and thrives in a fast-paced environmentfeels comfortable operating a cargo vanIn this job, you will:perform all duties related to retail market operations, including but not limited to the packing and transport of products, stall setup and breakdown, and customer serviceprovide exemplary hospitality to our customers (this position is almost entirely customer-facing: you'll be helping customers for several hours at a time)learn and describe a large selection of breads and pastries to customers, including how they're made, when they're available, and what they taste likemaintain a clean and tidy workspacemaintain visually-pleasing displays and well-organized backstockRequirements:valid driver's licenseclear and respectful communication skillstop-notch people skillsexcellent listening, organizational, and problem-solving skillsflexibility to adapt in a fast-paced and ever-changing environmentability to lift 50+ poundsability to be on your feet up to 10 hours/dayability to work outdoors - in the heat & cold, rain or shine - throughout the summer and fallfull availability Wednesday and Thursday during market seasonPreferred:prior farmers' market, food, and/or customer service experienceServSafe certification or understanding of food safety and allergen awarenessweekend and holiday availabilityBenefits you'll receive:Wage starting at $20/hr.401k / Profit Share Plan$50 monthly wellness stipendFree or discounted delicious baked goods$20 - $20 per hourSalary$20 - $20 per hour
