Colorado 811 is a 501(C)(4) non-profit organization dedicated to public safety and damage prevention, and ensures reliable, timely, and accurate communication to allow property owners and professional excavators to dig safely, preventing accidental damage to underground public utility lines.Role OverviewColorado 811 is a 24/7 statewide call center with a critical mission: protecting people, property, and infrastructure by ensuring safe excavation across Colorado. Behind every call is a robust, secure, always-on technology environment—and we're seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Information Technology Manager to help lead our IT initiatives and support our mission, ensuring robust infrastructure, security, and service delivery. This is a high-impact leadership role for a strategic IT professional who thrives in complex, mission-critical environments and wants to shape enterprise technology, cybersecurity, and operations at scale.Why This Role Is ExcitingLead IT operations that must never go downInfluence enterprise-wide technology strategy and cybersecurity postureManage modern infrastructure across cloud, call center, and data platformsPartner with executive leadership on innovation, budgets, and transformationLead and mentor a skilled IT team and trusted external vendorsSupport a public-facing mission that truly serves the communityWhat You'll DoAs our Senior Information Technology Manager, you'll oversee end-to-end IT operations while driving continuous improvement and innovation.Core ResponsibilitiesLead daily IT operations across infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, desktop support, and telecommunicationsManage and develop IT staff, contractors, and third-party vendorsEnsure high availability, performance, security, and compliance for all systems supporting a 24/7 call centerPartner with the Director of IT and senior leadership on technology strategy, budgeting, and roadmap planningOversee cybersecurity programs aligned with industry best practices (including NIST)Manage enterprise platforms including Microsoft 365, call center technologies, CRM/AMS systems, databases, and cloud environmentsLead vendor accountability for contracts, SLAs, budgets, and delivery timelinesDevelop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to track system health, project progress, and team performanceDrive audits, documentation, policies, and risk mitigation effortsChampion innovation, automation, and cost-effective solutionsTechnology EnvironmentMicrosoft 365 (OneDrive, SharePoint, security & administration)SQL Server (strong experience required)Cloud & storage: AWS, Dropbox, hybrid environmentsCall center platforms (e.g., Five9, Vonage, Avaya or similar)Ticketing systems (JIRA or similar)Cybersecurity tools & vendors (endpoint protection, monitoring, vulnerability management)Networks, servers, firewalls, MFA, backups, disaster recoveryAgile & modern IT management practicesWhat We're Looking For - Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master's preferred)10+ years of IT management experience8+ years leading IT teams across infrastructure, operations, security, and applicationsExperience supporting a 24/7 or mission-critical operational environmentStrong SQL Server experienceProven experience managing enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity programs, and cloud environmentsBudget ownership and vendor management experienceExceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skillsPreferred (But Not Required)Call center technology experienceProfessional certifications (ITIL, PMP, CISSP, CISM, CCNA, etc.)Experience with Agile methodologiesFamiliarity with data visualization tools such as Power BIPhysical requirements:Ability to work at a computer for extended periods (sitting/standing).Ability to be mobile for long periods and walk long distances at event venues.Ability to lift and move event materials and inventory up to 50 pounds.Ability to work in a variety of indoor/outdoor event environments (noise, allergens, temperature and lighting changes).Work Environment & ScheduleHybrid work model (remote and in-office)This role requires availability outside of standard business hours (including occasional nights and weekends) to support maintenance windows, critical incidents, and business continuity needs without advanced pensation & BenefitsSalary range: $135,000 – $155,000 annually Compensation is based on experience, education, and job-related qualifications in accordance with Colorado law.)We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, wellbeing, and long-term goals, including:Health coverage (medical, dental, and vision)Company incurs 100% of premiums for employee coverageHSA/FSA OptionsRetirement plan (e.g., 401(k))Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidaysCompany-paid life and disability insuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Professional development and training supportHybrid work environment (role-dependent; subject to change)Comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, paid time off, and moreOpportunity to lead technology that supports public safety statewideWhy Colorado 811?At Colorado 811, technology isn't just internal—it supports public safety, infrastructure reliability, and community trust.
