This role is REMOTE but MUST BE LOCAL TO AREA due to on site needs. This position requires frequent and regular onsite support aboard U.S. Navy ships. The engineer will work directly with Active Duty personnel and government staff to deliver high-quality repair and technical support for Navy afloat networks, including systems such as ADNS, ISNS, CANES, CENTRIXS, Legacy SCI, VIXS, and WRBS. Travel within the U.S. and internationally may be required (approx. 25%), along with occasional after-hours support.JOB DUTIES:Provide break/fix IT support in a fast-paced shipboard environment and troubleshoot LAN issues to determine effective resolutionsPerform root-cause analysis and recommend permanent configuration or system changes when neededCollaborate with external partners, consultants, vendors, and government agencies to resolve inter-system issues and support integration effortsDeliver server and network break/fix support, including remote troubleshooting of servers, networks, desktops, and peripheral devicesAdvise and guide Navy customers on best practices for maintaining afloat networks and associated components supporting data, voice, and communication servicesParticipate in technical meetings, prepare progress updates, and deliver briefs and presentations as neededSupport engineering and design reviews through participation in integrated product teamsQualificationsREQUIREMENTS:Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience. (An additional 8 years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.) 6+ years of experience supporting military network environments relevant to the listed responsibilitiesMust have an Active Secret Clearance to StartMust be able to obtain a TS/SCI after startAdministration experience with Cisco switches/routersWindows Server, or LinuxWorking knowledge of core networking concepts and protocols.
