Chief Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Chief Engineer to lead all engineering and maintenance operations at the Sheraton Suites ColumbWorthington-an all-suite, full-service hotel where quality, reliability, and presentation matter at every level.This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their building, and leads by example.What You'll DoLead a Complex, Full-Service OperationDirect all engineering and maintenance functions across guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house, and event areasOversee preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of all building systems and equipmentMaintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, kitchen, laundry, and mechanical systemsEnsure the upkeep of the building exterior, grounds, and curb appeal, including seasonal maintenanceDrive Performance, Compliance & Asset ProtectionEnsure compliance with **Marriott International brand standards, safety regulations, and all applicable codesMonitor life safety systems, utilities, and overall building infrastructureManage departmental budgets, expenses, and vendor relationshipsMaintain detailed records of maintenance activity, inspections, and preventative maintenance programsLead & Develop Your TeamSupervise, schedule, and develop maintenance technicians and engineersCreate a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork aligned with Soartress valuesPartner with the General Manager and department leaders to proactively address operational needsEnhance the Guest & Event ExperienceEnsure all guest-facing areas-from suites to meeting spaces-meet or exceed brand standardsRespond quickly and effectively to maintenance needs to minimize guest disruptionSupport banquet and event operations with timely and reliable engineering supportWhat You BringStrong technical expertise across hotel building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)Experience in a full-service or large hotel environment preferredProven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a teamHands-on, solution-oriented mindset with strong troubleshooting abilityStrong communication and organizational skillsFlexibility to respond to operational needs, including evenings, weekends, and emergenciesPhysical RequirementsThis role requires mobility including bending, lifting, climbing stairs, reaching, and working in various conditions across the property.What We OfferCompetitive payOpportunities for career growth within the hotelSupportive and team-oriented work environmentEmployee benefits and hotel discountsREQUIREMENTSThe Sheraton Suites Columbus Worthington is an all-suite hotel located just minutes from historic Worthington and a short drive from downtown Columbus.
