AV Install Technician

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Lead Audio/Visual Service Technician to support and service advanced AV, lighting control, and security systems in primarily educational environments, with additional work in industrial and office settings. This role will serve as a technical lead in troubleshooting, repair, and customer interaction while ensuring systems operate efficiently and reliably.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, repair, and service audio/visual and lighting control systemsUtilize system software and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve system failuresInterpret scopes of work, drawings, and blueprintsTerminate and service AV devices and camera systemsInstall, pull, and dress copper and coaxial cabling in backbone, horizontal, and riser environmentsEnsure all work complies with building codes and safety standardsCommunicate effectively with Service Coordinators, Technicians, Project Managers, Field Managers, and customers regarding service progress and resolutionsProvide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional appearance and demeanorParticipate in an on-call rotation to support customer needsRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong ability to read and interpret blueprintsSolid knowledge of electronics with advanced troubleshooting capabilitiesStrong computer networking skillsExcellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skillsClear oral and written communication skillsTechnical degree in electronics or equivalent hands-on experiencePrior experience with commercial security, AV, or related system installationsValid driver's license with a clean driving recordPreferred / Nice-to-Have ExperienceExperience with:Lighting control systemsCCTV and camera systemsAdvanced AV technologiesIndustry certifications such as:CrestronSavantAMXLutronOther relevant technical certifications or trainingWork EnvironmentPrimarily school systemsOccasional work in industrial sites and office buildingsWhy Join?Stable, growing organizationOpportunity to work with cutting-edge technologyLeadership role with hands-on impactSupportive team environment and professional growth opportunitiesJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
