RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer -Power Distribution in Plano, TX. This position follows a hybrid schedule (3 days remote/2 days onsite). You must reside in the Dallas, TX metro area.Summary:A growing, nationwide engineering company is seeking multiple Senior Electrical Engineers to support continued expansion. These roles are direct-hire searches, and we are working closely with the hiring manager. In this role, you will lead the design of power distribution and control systems for industry leading customers across the United States. The company offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary, annual bonus, 401(k) match, and comprehensive benefits.Key Responsibilities:Lead and oversee designs for low- and medium-voltage switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, and control panelsDevelop one-line and three-line power distribution drawings and detailed electrical schematics for control systemsEvaluate drawings and specifications to ensure designs meet customer requirements and applicable industry standardsProvide technical guidance on sizing electrical components, including transformers, CTs, fuses, cabling, bus systems, and circuit breakers, in accordance with UL 891 and NECDevelop sequences of operation, testing procedures, and validation plans for power distribution and control equipmentSupport manufacturing, testing, quality, and field service teams to ensure accurate and effective implementation of designsConfigure and/or program devices such as PLCs, VFDs, protective relays, transfer switches, circuit breakers, and controllersLead cross-functional collaboration to identify optimal product and process solutionsMentor junior engineers through design reviews, training development, and technical guidanceREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field3-10+ years of experience in electrical or electronic design (mid-level to senior candidates considered)Strong working knowledge of three-phase power systems (low and/or medium voltage)Familiarity with applicable standards, including UL 891, UL 508A, IEEE/ANSI, NEC, and NFPA 70EPreferred/Nice to Have:PE license is a plus but not requiredExperience with low- and medium-voltage switchgear and power systems designExposure to DC power systemsManufacturing experience, including BOMs, drawing packages, work instructions, and testing plansExperience with PLC and/or HMI systemsProficiency with tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, MATLAB, PSpice, or similarControls engineering backgroundLeadership or mentoring experienceIndustry experience in any of the following would be ideal Public Utilities, Critical Power (UPS), Data Centers, Renewables, Energy, Semiconductor, or ManufacturingThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
