What You ll Do: Provide advanced clinical care as first assist in major cardiothoracic surgeries including CABG, AVRs, and lung proceduresConduct hospital rounding, assist in the operating room, and manage patient chartsServe as on-call support, managing emergencies during 24-hour shiftsCollaborate with a team of experienced APPs and support staff to deliver exceptional patient careRequired Skills: Active NP or PA license in CaliforniaProven experience in cardiothoracic or related surgical procedures (CABG, AVR, lung surgeries)Competence in hospital rounding, surgical assisting, and patient managementStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to obtain hospital and medical staff credentialing (processed within approximately 90 days)Nice to Have Skills: BC in General Surgery with a fellowship in Cardiothoracic SurgeryExperience with Cerner EMR systemPrior locum or temporary staffing experience in acute care settingsPreferred Education and Experience: Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant StudiesAt least 2 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgical settings or equivalent trainingOther Requirements: Willingness to work 24-hour shifts, including holiday support (on-call and callback duties)Must be able to pass credentialing with St. Bernardine Hospital and DHMFTravel accommodations preferred nearby the facility local lodging options are available within 15 minutes of the hospitalPosition is not expected to include general trauma or pediatric casesThis is your chance to make a meaningful impact in a reputable facility while enjoying competitive pay and flexible scheduling.
