A Water Operator II performs semi-skilled to skilled work that demonstrates working knowledge of routine work, has the ability troubleshoot and diagnose issues, and requires proven technical skills to perform routine tasks. Water Operator II are responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, repair, and calibration of water and wastewater infrastructure, including water lines, sewer lines, lift stations, valves, hydrants, and meters. Performs field inspections, utility locating, routine maintenance, minor repairs, water sampling, and laboratory testing. Maintains accurate records through logs, work orders, and data reporting, while supporting overall system operations and related public works activities as assigned.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related water or wastewater experience in the public or private sector; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience. Grade 2 certification in Water Treatment or Water Distribution certification. Valid Arizona Driver's license required.
