Harken's core strength in its historic niche is matched with opportunities for growth as it expands to offer a growing assortment of safety and rescue equipment and services from its Harken Safety and Rescue division, focusing on its core objective to become the world's best in handling rope under load.TITLE: Supervisor I – 2nd Shift MachiningREPORTS TO: Operations ManagerBASED AT: Harken, Inc., Pewaukee, WisconsinSTATUS: Non-Exempt, Full Time, 2nd Shift, (4) 10 hour days Mon – Thurs KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise employees as assigned in the mills and lathes department, including day to day supervision, preparing performance reviews, training and participating in disciplinary actionEnsure production schedules are met while maintaining quality standardsPerform and verify unsupervised machine setups on CNC mills, lathes, and related equipmentRead, interpret, and troubleshoot G-code and M-code programs as neededSupport operators in setup, tooling changes, and process adjustmentsMonitor machine performance and make real-time adjustments to maintain efficiencyEnsure compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and company proceduresTrain, mentor, and evaluate machining operators and setup personnelTroubleshoot machining issues, tooling problems, and program errorsPlan and oversee production in select areas of the Mills department as assignedRecommend tooling arrangements, fixtures, operation sequence, etc.Work with Operations Manager to plan, organize, train and develop workforce and to continuously improve the effectiveness of the machining departments in accomplishing Company goalsUse a variety of precision measuring instrumentsMay be required to periodically check in on other departments operating during second shift to ensure overall facility coordination, support operational needs, and maintain consistent adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards across all areas.Other duties as assignedPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:5 years of machining experience1 to 2 years' experience as a Lead or Supervisor, requiredStrong ability to independently perform CNC machine setups (mills and/or lathes)Proficient in reading and interpreting G-code and M-code programsSolid understanding of machining principles, tooling, and fixture setupAbility to use standard office puter proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Publisher.Ability to add, sub-tract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, feel or handle objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands or arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
