An experienced hospitality group behind some of Brooklyn’s most respected restaurants—including Celestine and Grand Army—is preparing to open a new concept in DUMBO. Rooted in a thoughtful, modern approach to Mexican cuisine, this project will bring together vibrant food, a strong beverage program, and warm, intentional service. We are seeking a motivated, experienced General Manager to lead the front of house team from pre-opening through launch and beyond. This is a rare opportunity to be deeply involved in shaping a restaurant from the ground up, working closely with ownership and senior leadership to build systems, culture, and standards that will define the space. Our GM will be involved in all aspects of the business. Strong organizational skills are essential for the administrative and operational side of the role, along with excellent leadership and communication skills to build, mentor, and inspire a team. While we bring years of experience and proven systems, we are looking for someone who is thoughtful, solutions-oriented, and excited to contribute creatively to a new opening. Responsibilities: Partner with ownership and leadership to develop and implement operational systems, service standards, and team structure for opening Oversee all front of house operations, ensuring excellence in service and a positive, motivated team environment Lead hiring, onboarding, and training of FOH staff Manage day-to-day operations including scheduling, payroll, sales reporting, COGS and labor controls, and DOH readiness Lead pre-shift meetings and ongoing staff education to build product knowledge and service consistency Collaborate with the culinary team to refine service flow, menu communication, and guest experience Work with events team to develop and execute private dining and full buyout opportunities Contribute to marketing initiatives, community engagement, and overall business strategy Qualifications: Minimum 2–3 years of NYC executive restaurant management experience, with opening experience strongly preferred Strong leadership presence with a commitment to team development and culture-building Deep knowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality Highly organized with strong administrative and financial acumen Experience with platforms such as Resy, Toast, and Craftable is a plus Compensation & Benefits: Salary range: $90,000 – $110,000 (commensurate with experience) Performance-based bonus structure Health care subsidy Paid vacation We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in all forms.
