General Manager — East Village (NYC) | High-Volume Restaurant About NOWON NOWON is a Korean-American restaurant group built in New York City, known for high-impact dishes like the Legendary Cheeseburger and Chopped Cheese Rice Cakes. Our East Village location is a high-volume, flagship unit doing ~$3.5M+ annually. We are building a team of strong operators to support our next phase of growth. The Role This is a full-ownership GM role . You are responsible for the performance of the restaurant — across operations, team, guest experience, and financial results. This is not a “keep things running” position. You are expected to drive performance, enforce standards, and build a strong team. Reports to: Director of OperationsWorks closely with: Head Chef (aligned through Group Executive Chef)Location: 507 E 6th Street, East Village, NYC What You’ll Own Operations Oversee all daily operations (FOH + BOH alignment) Ensure systems, SOPs, and service standards are executed consistently Maintain DOH readiness, cleanliness, and organization at all times Step into service as needed to support the team Team Leadership Lead, coach, and develop managers and hourly staff Hire, onboard, and retain strong team members Set expectations and hold the team accountable to standards Build a culture of discipline, consistency, and performance Guest Experience Ensure consistent, high-level hospitality on every shift Address guest issues directly and resolve them quickly Drive improvements in reviews and repeat business Financial Performance Own the P&L for the restaurant Manage labor, scheduling, and productivity Control costs through ordering, inventory, and waste reduction Review reports and take action to improve margins Systems & Accountability Enforce systems (checklists, pars, reporting) across all shifts Track and manage key metrics: labor %, COGS %, reviews, comps/voids Ensure all managers are executing at a high level Who You Are 5+ years in restaurant management, including 2+ years as GM or strong AGM 2+ years managing a $3M+ unit (required) Strong leader who can build and hold a team accountable Operationally sharp — understands both service and numbers Direct, organized, and solutions-driven Comfortable being fully accountable for results Why This Role Run a high-volume NYC flagship (~$3M+ annual sales) Full P&L ownership of a serious operating business Work directly with ownership on group-level strategy and growth Clear path into Director of Operations or multi-unit roles as the group scales Compensation $90K–$105K base salary (based on experience) Performance-based bonus tied to restaurant profitability and key metrics (yearly payout) Strong performance typically brings total compensation into the $105K–$120K+ range Health, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k) Dining benefits across NOWON locations How to Apply Send resume and a short note: Describe the most difficult operational problem you've owned as a GM or AGM — what was broken, what you did, and what changed.
