Assist with management of overseeing repair & maintenance of equipment, manage purchasing and inventory levels. Work with the Barge Superintendent to oversee dry docking. Ensure compliance of all documentation & regulatory requirements.Help maintain capital expenditure budget for bargesAssist and oversee Vessel Repair and Maintenance ProgramMonitor compliance of documentation & regulatory requirementsOversee dry docking & maintenance projects on bargesPerform in the company Spill Management team as assignedAssist with repair and maintenance costs versus the budgetPerform other related duties as assigned.Extensive knowledge of oil bargesKnowledge of barge maintenance systems and equipmentSteel work and repair on barges and TugsAbility to troubleshoot Diesel engines, Hydraulics, and electrical systems.Ability to deal with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgmentMaintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communicationsAbility to understand and execute complex oral and written instructionsAbility to work independently with minimal or no guidanceAbility to get along with office staff and vessel crew membersMust be physically fit enough to board barges and tugs at sea and in port5 years Maritime industry experiencePerform inspections of vessels on repair & maintenance standards and proceduresHAZWOPER (including Incident Command System) training within 90 days of being hiredFirst Aid & CPR trainingMust have valid TWIC or able to obtain one within 60 daysValid State driver licenseMust be able to travel to CanadaMust be able to perform the job functions and be physically fit enough to pull heavy lines/hoses; lift or carry heavy items; climb onto barges; climb up and down ladders; bend and twist during boat/barge tie up.Exposure to all weather conditions (rain, ice, snow, heat, wind, heavy seas, etc.)Must not be afraid of heights.Normal office hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.Take communications 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays, concerning changes in schedules and conditionsFrequently required to board tugs, barges, and ships, at dock or at anchor in all weather conditions and at all hoursTravel required 25-45%Centerline Logistics is a leading provider of marine transportation services in the United States.
