The position of Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business by contacting potential customers, referral sources and centers of influence for OceanPoint Marine Lending (OPML), a division of BankNewport. The Sales Representative will work closely with our product divisions and OPML’s sales leadership to develop and maintain a sustainable production pipeline that aligns with company strategy, product appetite and steady growth.The Sales Representative’s primary scope of responsibility is the solicitation and origination of boat loans for OPML or on behalf of BankNewport’s correspondent banks or other bona fide sources.Achieve customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.Cultivate relationships with prospects and customers to create customer satisfaction and repeat business.Evaluate business or individual customers’ needs and propose financial products that meet their criteria.Stay current on and learn about new financial products and services.Maintain relationships with lending partnersObtaining information from the borrower and completing a boat loan application.At times, analyzing the borrower’s income and debt and pre-qualifying the prospective borrower to determine the maximum boat loan the borrower can afford.Educating the borrower on the boat financing and/or boat re-financing process. Advising the borrower of the different loan products and/or programs available, and demonstrating how closing costs and monthly payments may vary under each loan product or loan program.Facilitating and/or collecting all loan documentation and financial information as required as part of the loan application process. Acting as one of the primary contacts for the borrower throughout the loan application process. Providing the borrower with timely and accurate status updates on their loan request when necessary.Working with OPML’s boat loan processors and underwriters to fulfill all application requirements and credit stipulations as set forth by OPML, its Correspondent Lender(s) or other bona fide sources.Providing all required application disclosures to the borrower.Actively identifying opportunities and cross-selling other OceanPoint Marine Lending and BankNewport products when possible. Participating (as appropriate) in the loan closing.One year or more experience in sales or various marine financing roles.Proactive, organized, results driven, meets deadlines, self-driven, collaborative.Ability to build rapport with clients quickly.Must have excellent negotiation skills with proven track record.
