Overview Position Overview: The Telecommunications Foreman is responsible for planning, organizing, and scheduling. crews to complete assigned work orders, including assigning tasks, assuring the work is being installed in a high-quality manner and performing quality inspections. This individual will monitor task completion, compliance and prevent safety issues. The Telecommunications Foreman will have technical knowledge & working experience in the installation of Telecommunication Systems including Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling, CCTV, OSP & ISP Copper, along with DAS. In a manufacturing environment, this position is responsible for the working installation & leading project team in the manufacture of assemblies supporting telecommunications cabling, and equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The position is located at M. C. Dean modular construction facility in Charlotte, NC. Employees report to the same location daily on a fixed schedule unless a situation dictates otherwise. Position Requirements: Responsibilities included, but not limited to: u2022 Knowledge and Safe Use of hand tools and various power tools u2022 Wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) u2022 Following Safety Policies and Procedures u2022 Actively Participating in Daily Safety and Work briefings. u2022 Installation various types of Low Voltage Cable u2022Must be able to understand scheduling and it's importance. u2022 Managing small to large sized projects of 5+ or more persons u2022 Help run the day-to-day operations under Superintendents guidance. u2022Implement high level of safety, quality, and production on the project. u2022 Be able to read and interpret drawings. Understand and implement pathway installation, including conduit and cable tray. u2022 Must be able to work with other trades to coordinate installation, work with GC and Customer at a high level u2022 Conferring with senior management, supervisory personnel to resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems. u2022 Scheduling the project in logical steps to budget enough time required to meet deadlines. u2022 Interpreting and explaining plans to field workers. u2022 Terminating, testing, troubleshooting of Low Voltage Cabling (Fiber Optics, Cat 5, Cat u2022 Installation and assembly of various pathways and cable tray u2022 Installation and assembly of various Telecommunications Devices u2022 Installation of Prefabricated Components and Assemblies. u2022 Installation of Telecommunications Grounding Systems u2022 Cable Foreman need to be able to train and supervise technicians/apprentices in a team environment to facilitate installing cable from Telecommunication Rooms (TR) to work area outlets (WAO) while following drawings and run lists to ensure cables are installed methodically and arranged in proper bundles at TR for ease of dressing and termination. u2022 Cable Foreman need to be able to perform Quality assurance checks of their team's work ensuring cable install is performed within all applicable requirements. u2022 Maintain a clean work area and participate in job site cleanup. u2022 Securing company tools and materials daily Qualifications / Skills Sets / Expectations: u2022 6+ years prior experience in commercial communications/ Construction industry u2022 High School diploma or GED is required. u2022 Possesses a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance to our policy. u2022Successfully pass a background check and drug test u2022 Have reliable transportation to and from the jobsite u2022 Ability to pass basic telecommunication knowledge test u2022 Consistently report to work on time, work well with other to accomplish a common goal and maintain a safe work environment. u2022 Wear long pants and a shirt that covers the shoulders by six (6) inches. These are not provided by the Company. u2022 Provide basic tools from provided tool list prior to 1st day of employment. Desired Skills: u2022 Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Physical Abilities: u2022 Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period. u2022 Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance. u2022 Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders. u2022 Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis. u2022 Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English. u2022 May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools. u2022 Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
