Jordan Health is now seeking aWIC Peer Counselorwho, under the guidance of the WIC Breastfeeding Director/WIC Peer Counselor Supervisor, is primarily responsible for improving breastfeeding support amongst WIC families. Requirements TheWIC Peer Counselorwill ensure to: u00b7 Improve breastfeeding initiation and duration rates through breastfeeding support. u00b7 Increase community breastfeeding awareness. u00b7 Communicate well with a diverse community. u00b7 Stay current on breastfeeding research. u00b7 Develop participate centered breastfeeding materials. u00b7 Perform related task as directed by supervisor. u00b7 Document BF contacts, attempts and referrals within NYWIC system. u00b7 Maintain caseload of assigned prenatal and breastfeeding participants. u00b7 Provide contact sheets to BF Director. Education And Experience Required: u00b7 High school diploma or equivalent u00b7 Must have breastfeeding experience. Licenses And Certifications Required: u00b7 Provider BLS/CPR through the American Heart Association. u00b7 Infection Control certificate. Special Skills, Knowledge Required: u00b7 Must have personal breastfeeding experience. u00b7 Must possess clear written and verbal communication skills and be able to work well with people. u00b7 Must be sensitive to the culture needs of the population served. u00b7 Spanish speaking preferred.
