Job Summary: Performs tool work on plant equipment operations, installs/repairs equipment and components. Has overall responsibility for facility maintenance.Duties are performed under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager or other designated members of the management team. The following requirements, essential functions, and responsibilities are not intended to represent an exhaustive listing nor in any way restrict or limit job assignment.Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.Performs precise tool workPerforms complex troubleshooting of electrical/mechanical equipmentModifies programming of robots and related equipment such as robot controllers and programmable controllersInstalls equipment, components and systems with and without outside servicesPlans, builds and installs new machinery at an engineering levelAdvises manufacturing of suggestions that would optimize production and minimize downtime and scrapMaintains good housekeepingRecognizes safety hazards on equipment and in the plant and initiates corrective actionFollows lockout procedures and all safety rules in the facilityPerforms and maintains preventative maintenance programRequisitions and keeps supply of spare parts; knowledge of proper purchasing proceduresSuggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crewMaintains time and production recordsMust have ability to perform duties and responsibilities of lower maintenance classificationsAbility to interpret electrical/mechanical sketches, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentationKnowledge of applicable electrical codes normally found in a manufacturing environmentTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education/Experience:Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with emphasis in electrical training; or five or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Ability:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Math Ability:Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software and Microsoft Office software.Certificates and Licenses: Journeyman electrician certification preferred. Valid Fork Lift License.
