Job Description

The F&B Manager is a key member of the management team and reports directly to the General Manager. The Assistant General Manager/F&B Manager is responsible for the oversight of all food & beverage operations at the property, as well assisting the General Manager in administering the overall aspects of the operations. This includes implementing budgets and the hiring, training and supervising staff. The Assistant General Manager/F&B Manager will apply all of their experience and knowledge to assuring that the wants and needs of guests are consistently met and/or exceeded.Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:Must have 1-3 years of related experience in F&B management and/or golf industryMust have supervisory, coaching and staff development experiencePGA Membership or PGA registered apprentice in good standingMust have food and beverage/ a la carte and banquet experienceMust have experience in total golf facility management and demonstrated ability to run a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented operationMust be proficient in Excel, Access, Word, POS systemsWorking knowledge of club accountingMust have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf businessExperience assisting with building player development programsExperience acting as a club liaison to the communityMust have exceptional customer service skillsMust be highly motivated, goal driven and self-starterCollege degree preferredMust be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointKnowledge of pertinent health regulations and liquor lawsMust have strong service orientationMust possess excellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be highly organized, efficient and detail-orientedMust have exceptional interpersonal skillsResponsibilities:Manages the office area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications bothManages all aspects of the club in the absence of the general managerAssists in hiring, developing and supervising all key management employees of the propertyProcess customer reservations for guests of the golf courseDaily management of Front of House F&B DepartmentAssist General Manager with banquet and event salesInspects and assists with banquet set-up and breakdown of tables, decorations, equipment, serving areas, and related activities in an accurate and timely mannerEnsure satisfaction by communicating with the client throughout the event regarding any changes, substitutions or special requests; assisting banquet staff throughout the event as needed (refilling drinks, delivering food, bussing tables, etc.); and following up with host at the conclusion of event.Produce daily reports related to rounds, sales, etc. for managementAssist in coordinating of individual, group, and tournament play as directed by the 1st Assistant Golf Professional and/or Head Golf ProfessionalWorks closely with Marshall and Starter to monitor all aspects of play including starting, monitoring pace of play, safety on the course and golf course markingsConduct training and refresher classes for all Front of House F&B personnel in the correct proceduresDaily oversight of Front of House F&B accounting proceduresForecasting and budgets pertaining to F&B operationMaintaining cost controls and conducting a monthly inventoryImplement and maintain F&B sales/marketing programsDevelop and implement marketing program to increase banquet businessAlcohol and beverage ordering - follow PO buying processAssists in reconciliation of cash and accounts receivable charges to daily register at the closing of the dayAssists in overseeing the care and maintenance of the property's physical assets and facilitiesProvides assistance in management of Pro-ShopMaintaining positive and productive relationships between the golf facility and its board of directors, golfers, guests, employees, community, government and industryQuality assurance, guest service and training of all employeesUphold Troon Food and Beverage policiesInstitute and implement all Troon Human Resources guidelinesCoordination between all departmentsDevelop and implement creative strategies to increase revenuesPlan and Coordinate special events and functionsResponsible for overall guest satisfactionEnsure all employees are conducting themselves in a professional mannerPerform daily walk-through to ensure full compliance with the Department of Health regulationsComplies with applicable health, alcoholic beverage, fire and other local/state lawsClosing procedures and appropriate cash handling practicesAssists GM in managing staff by conducting staff meetingsEnsuring standards by implementing course policies and proceduresPerforms other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
