Hardware Engineer

Persistent Systems is looking for a talented Hardware Engineer with extensive experience in circuit design for battery powered and high-speed (Ghz) digital devices."¯ The position involves the design, development, and prototyping of electronic assemblies for next generation products and/or upgrades to current products."¯"¯Responsibilities also include developing documentation, testing, and technical support to manufacturing.Position Responsibilities"¯Define system and circuit level requirementsDesign circuits, perform analysis/simulations, and create schematics/BOMsIdentify all necessary components and equipment to support the product design processPerform PCB stack-up design, layout and routing, and generation of the full manufacturing file package to build circuit board prototypes.Interface with Mechanical Engineering to ensure all packaging and thermal constraints are metEstablish hardware and software test environments and infrastructureDevelop the concept prototypes and conduct DVT to verify system performanceProvide technical leadership for projects developed by sub-contractorsEnsure tasks are delivered on time and within the performance, cost and reliability targetsProvide technical support to manufacturingMinimum QualificationsAt least 5 years’ experience with digital and analog circuit designFamiliar with methods of the design of high-speed hardwareKnowledge of design for signal integrityKnowledge of internal and external data buses such as SPI, I2C, LAN, USB, PCIe, etc.Familiar with worst-case and statistical error analysisPower management designApplicant must have a security clearance or able to obtain a security clearance"¯Preferred QualificationsExposure to Embedded Firmware Development in Assembly, C and/or C++Experience in electromagnetic capability (EMC) testing and designFamiliar with switching mode power supply designKnowledge of military qualification testingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent task management skillsDemonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyThe base pay for this role can vary from $150,000 to $170,000 a year based on individual qualifications.
