Cooks are excellent multi-taskers and have experience moving around the kitchen while following instructions to create delicious meals. The ideal candidate has previous experience working as a cook in a bustling, fast-paced restaurant setting.ResponsibilitiesSeason and prepare food items in accordance to customers’ specifications and preset recipesSetup plating line and assist with plating dutiesArrange prepared food items in an aesthetic mannerManage portions of food items and garnishesRegulate temperature of broilers, grills, and roastersWash, cut and peel meats and vegetables before preparing them for cookingTaste and evaluate food items before servingRotate and label food items ensure freshness and maintain quality standardsDiscard expired or near expiry food itemsClean and sanitizes grilling and broiling equipment after useCook food items to standard temperatures before servingPrepare all food products according to prescribed methodsFollow all national, state, and local safety, health, and sanitation guidelines as specified by the venuePerforms other related duties as assignedQualificationsPrevious cooking experience recommendedExcellent oral communication skills requiredAbility to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficientlyAbility to memorize complex order or multiple ordersMust speak English fluently and be able to write in basic EnglishFood Handlers CardEducationHigh School diploma or GEDSkills/Abilities/Personal CharacteristicsKnowledge of Food Service RegulationsLiftingTime ManagementOrganizationVerbal CommunicationTeamworkPersistenceEnergy LevelThoroughnessCompensation: $20-$22 hourWorking ConditionsDays and hours of work vary by schedule and business needsEvening, weekend, and holiday work will be requiredAble to sit or stand for long periods of timeWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull.
