In this role you will work closely with senior leadership to support our growth strategy and provide subject matter expertise. You will also be joining a team that is highly engaged, driven and collaborative.Howyou can make an impact:Technical DutiesTrack record of successfully delivering generator interconnection or transmission planning projects across multiple ISOs/RTOs and/or UtilitiesProvide technical insights and support in complex initiatives driving policies in the industryServe as a subject matter expert on transmission planning studies by leading and conducting analyses related to load flow, transient stability and short circuitPassionate about solving difficult technical problems, providing innovative solutions and taking ownership of the solutions providedIdentify optimal strategy for project interconnection to the grid based on system impacts and grid capacityCollaborate with other teams within EPE to provide strategic guidance on market trends and process change across multiple ISO’s, in particular SPP and MISODevelop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, industry organizations, and regulatory agenciesStay up to date with emerging technologies, market innovations, and best practices in the energy industry to enhance the organization's offerings and capabilitiesAdvise on technical software strategy and IP developmentCarry out additional duties as assignedLeadership DutiesBuild on EPE's existing generator interconnection and planning studies capabilities and help develop EPE's expansion strategy for the Transmission Planning Utilities teamBuild confidence with senior and executive management within client organizations and assist in other sales and business development activitiesEnsure effective project staffing, resource utilization, and staff training/developmentEnsure that deliverables generated by the Power Systems Engineer(s) assigned to a project is prepared, checked, and approved in accordance with EPE's quality management standards and without errorsTake responsibility for the timely completion of assigned projects while meeting all project quality and budget objectivesInteract with clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns regarding the project(s) under studyPrepare responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) by providing a scope of work and time estimates for new projectsProvide training and mentorship to junior team members to build a strong and knowledgeable teamAssist in the development of marketing and business development strategies for the organization's energy resources servicesParticipate in industry conferences, seminars, and workshops to stay informed about new developments in the interconnection industry and network with other professionals in the fieldBring your passion, here's what’s needed:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field (a Master's or PhD degree is preferred)8 to 10 years of experience in the electric energy industry, generator modelling, transmission planning and interconnection studies is preferredSolid background in power flow, optimal power flow, transient stabilityIn-depth knowledge of at least one but preferably several of the following software packages: PSSE, TARA, PSLF, ASPEN, DSATools, PSCADKnowledge of SPP and MISO footprintsProven ability to evaluate new utility tariffs and study methodologiesAutomation experience (Python, C#, SQL) would be looked upon favorablyCompetency in analytical problem-solving, strong communication, and technology expertiseHow we support you:Comprehensive health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, and vision with 100% premium coverage foryou.Generous PTO and paid holidaysWork with industry leaders401K, up to a 4% match (100% vested from day 1)Flexible Work including hybrid and remote possibilities based on position.Location: This position is open to REmote US or CanadaTravel: Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)EPE is an equal opportunity/AA/Disability/Veteran employer.
